Designing, installing ADI Bio and Skimmer boxes, using sheet and boulder fall techniques to construct falls, using steppes and boulders in the stream, and constructing a stable foundation and body for the pond basin. All plumbing, foaming, and water proofing will be instructed.
Removing mulch, check for water and electrical
lines, and preparing site for construction
Discussing design format and placement of fall box and size of basin.
Removing mulch, check for water and electrical
lines, and preparing site for construction
Considering the size of water feature
to what is need in stones and gravel
Instructing group on plumbing shortcuts and
techniques to ensure success to no leaks.
Digging shape of basin and putting all fill where fall box will be placed, and cutting steppes for fall of water into basin. The underlayment is added to feature to protect the liner from sharp rocks / roots.
Cutting out steppes for fall design (keep in mind how water falls)
Using forklift to place two-three man boulders.
(tree dollie can also be used)
It is very important that the fall box is level from front to back, and side to side. Have an 1/8" of an inch drop to the front for sure fall of the water. (You want the water to fall over the stones not behind, also make sure the ground is packed before setting the box.)
Connecting 2" black Flex piping to box and vault in the bottom of pitt.
(making sure all connections are well prime and cemented).
This is where your pump will be housed.
Making sure the depth of basin is correct
- you should have at least 3' or make the basin wider or longer. (Remember when the system is down the water has to go somewhere) Consider the volume of water the system will hold and make basin to size.
Again making sure all 2" connecting are well connected.
Foaming stones in location for proper water flow.
(make sure the water is flowing out and over rocks, not behind them)
Design is completed, Nice Job Everyone!
